Pokemon Hulbury Walkthrough
Step 1
The first thing you will see when you arrive in Hulbury is a Pokemon Centre. Stop by if you need to heal up your Pokemon, and then carry on down the road. You will promptly run into a crowd of people – turns out Chairman Rose is here, and he has been stopped by a couple of his fans. Once he notices you, he will invite you to dinner with him – but on the condition that you successfully defeat Nessa and obtain a water badge.
Step 2
You will find the restaurant just east of where you met Rose and Oleana, but Oleana will be blocking the entrance. Remember you need to get a water badge before you can dine with the chairman. Why not head down the stairs right by you to check out Hulbury’s open-air market? There is an item you can pick up and the shops also offer some useful wares that can only be found here.
Step 3
Once you have explored the open-air market, keep wandering through Hulbury. As with other towns and cities, you will find some items scattered about, and you don’t want to miss out on freebies. You hopefully found the magnet in the southwest corner of the market, and there is a TM near the lighthouse here. There are also several fishing spots at the town docks, so why not relax with a bit of fishing if you are in the mood?
Step 4
While you are at the lighthouse, you will also likely spot Nessa, too – she is the Hulbury Gym Leader, and apparently, she already knows who you are. Speak to her and she will give you her league card before heading back to her gym. Follow after her to return to Hulbury Stadium and head inside.
Step 5
You will be encountering a lot of water-type Pokemon during Hulbury’s gym mission and your battle with Nessa. Make sure your team is prepared for this, and then speak to the girl at the far end of the lobby to get the gym mission started.
Step 6
Oleana will be right outside once you leave the Gym Stadium. She will tell you to get a move on to the restaurant, and she will also give you one of Chairman Rose’s League Cards just in case you forgot what he looked like. You might as well go now so you don’t keep the esteemed businessman waiting too long.
Step 7
Once you get to the restaurant, head to the back and you will see Rose, Oleana… and, surprisingly, Sonia! It seems that she was invited to dinner with Rose, too. Once you sit down, you will be treated to a bit of discussion about Professor Magnolia’s research, but sadly the chairman will need to be on his way shortly. Sonia will also head off, but she will give you TM79 Retaliate as her own way of celebrating your victory over Nessa!
Step 8
Leave the restaurant, and Hop will let you know where your next stop will be. Though the next gym is back in Motostoke, apparently the Morostoke Gym Leader is in Galar Mine No 2 doing some special training. You cannot get his gym badge if he is not in his gym, so head to Galar Mine No 2 via the tunnel in the southeast of Hulbury and see if you can find him.
